Tongxiao (Tony) Han
I am a second-year student at Cornell University majoring in Entomology and on the Pre-Medical track. I am interested in infectious diseases in terms of both the viral mechanism and the role of insect vectors like mosquitoes and ticks in transmission. Currently, I am studying the possible effects of xrRNAs on RNA molecular machinery including mRNA translation, using in vitro assays and luciferase readout. I am also an upcoming member at the Murdock lab, where I hope to study the host-pathogen interaction and how it is influenced by environmental factors. Outside of class, I love to play tennis, drink tea and hunt for cool bugs (especially Scarabaeinae).
